Meet our Honoree
My name is Elizabeth ("Lizzie") and I am 15 years old. I am excited to be the 2009 Honoree for the 2009 Arthritis Walk in San Francisco. People often do not believe or understand that arthritis affects kids because most people think of it as an "old people's" disease. However, I am here to tell you that getting arthritis, or lupus as is my case, is just as hard on kids as adults. I would like to share my arthritis story with you.
Can you picture your life and the lives of your loved ones without the pain and stiffness of arthritis? One in five Americans has Arthritis, including 300,000 children. For those Americans, just like me, it is hard to imagine the day to day pain being gone. Join me in making the dream of a pain free life a reality. Every step you take in the Arthritis Walk is one step closer to finding a cure and helping your loved ones.
A substantial portion of the funds you help us raise go directly toward research to prevent and find a cure for arthritis. The funds you raise also help people who struggle with arthritis to make their lives the best they can be.
